Lloyds Banking Group was established in 2009 when Lloyds TSB acquired HBOS. HBOS is a banking and insurance company in the United Kingdom. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Lloyds Banking Group. It (HBOS) is a result of a merger between Halifax plc and the Bank of Scotland in 2001.
Lloyds TSB on the other hand as a result of a merger in 1995 between Llyod Bank and Trustee savings bank. It traded as Lloyds TSB Bank plc from 1999 to 2013.
